Back now with the second half of the 2014 Norm Reeves Honda Show coverage. There isn’t much left to say that hasn’t been said already so just sit back and enjoy the photos. Thanks once again to Chris Pinedo and the NRH Performance staff for putting on this great event. Like I mentioned yesterday, it is a smaller event in comparison to the larger shows that fill the calendar year but it is a necessary one for Honda enthusiasts in Socal. Here’s to many more and to the continued success of this annual show…

Norm Reeves Honda Annual Car Show 2014 Coverage…Part 1…

Today we’re going to check out the rest of my shots from the show as well as some snaps that I captured after the show ended…

Another great build from the Norm Reeves Honda Show was this Honda Prelude build on gold BBS LM wheels. It is incredibly rare to see really well-rounded Prelude builds these days and this one is definitely one of the better ones….

IMG_9481-Edit

I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the spikes but the engine bay is nicely executed. It is neatly tucked away with polished pieces that create a nice contrast against the black bay. I know the ARC intake and induction box doesn’t make any power and is more of an aesthetic piece but as a fan of rare olderJapanese goods, I really like this set-up on Hondas. Every time I see this Prelude at events I learn to appreciate it more. Great job…

IMG_9484-Edit

If memory serves correct, I believe I was also supposed to shoot this car for Honda Tuning before the magazine folded. I guess I’ll see if I can get this build featured elsewhere because it is certainly deserving…

Honda Civic Wagon on classic Volk Racing EMU Fin wheels….

IMG_9487-Edit

DC5 RSX with J’s Racing front fenders, Advan Racing RGIII wheels, and Stoptech big brakes. Front lip appears to be a Chargespeed piece and the sides are Mugen or “Mugen-style”. Rear wing is also Mugen…

IMG_9491-Edit

Like the Prelude above, this RSX is also running an Abbey Road Company intake arm and Induction Box….

Spoon Sports-themed DC2 Integra Type R with JDM ITR front end conversion…

IMG_9514-Edit

I’m a big fan of Kerwin’s JDM RHD EG6 Civic. There is a lot of really cool parts on it and they all come together pretty well. The outside features Denji projector headlights, a First Molding carbon front lip, and 15-inch Work VS-KF wheels, while the smoothed-out engine bay is highlighted with an H22A swap and a Jackson Racing supercharger…

IMG_9512-Edit

Interesting touch with the acrylic intake tube and the clear distributor cap. You can see that he follows a central theme with the blue accents and polished pieces as well. Nice job. Had a chance to chat with Kerwin a couple times too and he’s a good dude. It Makes the build that much better. Also really cool to see an old school FEEL’S Twin Cam header being used too…

OEM A-Spec equipped, turbocharged, RSX on CCW D11L…

IMG_9524-Edit

White Mugen RnR wheels on this Civic that may or may not be Laguna Seca Blue….Honestly, I can’t even tell anymore…

IMG_9526-Edit

If you’ve ever encountered this Civic before, then you’ve probably heard the owner tell you about how it was in one of the Fast and the Furious movies. He’ll even tell you the exact minute it is on screen and how long it is on screen for. He seems to tell me every single time like I forgot. I get it, it was in the funeral scene, it’s cool man. Nice build…

IMG_9527-Edit

JDM RHD Civic SI wearing the rare “20th Anniversary Edition” pinstripe on the side. Not sure if this is a true 20th Anniversary EG5 because it is in incredibly good condition for its age. Maybe it was restored, I’m not completely sure. If it is, that’s pretty awesome because they are pretty rare cars. It could also be just a more common EG6 Civic from Japan with the “20th Anniversary” sticker that was purchased later. The OE silver moldings tells me that this might just be an EG6 SiR II with the decal added after. Either way, it looks good on the Mugen NR wheels and is very well-kept…

IMG_9551-Edit

One of the best Honda builds out right now nationwide has to be Angel’s Civic build from Nemo’s Garage. I remember first encountering it at SEMA last year and it has made some great strides since then. It is one of those builds that you just appreciate more and more every time you see it in detail. The entire car has been completely repainted, the front features a First Molding Flugel plate, and the 15×8 Volk TE37SL wheels are a huge upgrade over the Work Emotions that he had previously. Hard to see here but it also has a J’s Racing 3D GT wing with polished brackets. The exterior is on point but it is the engine bay and interior that really makes it special…

IMG_9532-Edit

IMG_9534-Edit

In the bay is a K20Z1 swap and Jackson Racing supercharger. The head also has valvetrain upgrades and the motor is tuned on an AEM EMS Series II. If that wasn’t enough, the blower is also equipped with a MercRacing aftercooler, heat exchanger, and R-Crew K-swap header…

IMG_9543-Edit

The interior features a full DC5 RSX dash swap and center console. The instrument cluster and all gauges are functional, as well as the OE RSX Bose audio system. Even the RSX steering column controls and immobilizer works. The EG door panels had to be modified slightly with fiber glass to fit the shape of the dash, but you wouldn’t notice by how smoothly it all flows together…

IMG_9545-Edit

IMG_9547-Edit

The dash, center console, and door panels are all re-wrapped in Bride Hyper Black material to match the Bride seats….

IMG_9549-Edit

Pretty fucking incredible interior if you ask me. This is the kind of shit that I love. I didn’t get a shot of the rear but it is gutted and even sections of the floor have been shaved clean for a more streamlined look. People often ask me what I look for in a feature car and the type of builds that really peak my interest. Well, this is a prime example of a well-rounded, highly-detailed, Honda build…

IMG_9560-Edit

Towards the end of the day, Sam Ip pulled up to hang out in his Spoon Sports-themed supercharged NA2 NSX build on Airrex suspension…

IMG_9554-Edit

Love the latest addition of the carbon fiber GT wing. The Spoon Sports rear bumper is so aggressive that the rear almost looks odd without a wing to compliment it…

IMG_9561-Edit

It wouldn’t be a true Spoon Sports build without Spoon Monoblock big brakes behind the custom 3-piece Arkane wheels…

IMG_9563-Edit

Pretty wild how quickly this build came together. Huge thanks to Go-Tuning Unlimited for being able to acquire the Spoon Sports aero. I don’t think people have any idea of how rare the front and rear bumpers are…

Mikey loading up the Phaze2 Ruckus aka the “RUCKREDOCTOBER” onto the truck so we can take it back to the shop. Of course I forgot to get a good photo of it when it was on display at the Norm Reeves show….

After the show ended, we decided to head over to a local spot to grab some Sorbet ice cream. It was kinda warm that day so it really hit the spot. We finished up and decided to head back over to the secret Phaze2/Chronicles HQ to hang out for a bit since Sam and Karl didn’t really have plans for the rest of the day…

Some of the guys just hanging out in the back of the spot. Pictured from left to right are; DPK Chuy, DPK David, Sam Ip, HeyMikeyyyy, and Dougie…

IMG_9585-Edit

Here’s a shot of the Phaze2 Ruckus, built by DROW Sports, since I forgot to get a shot of it during the show. The guys at DROW were even kind enough to give us this stand to hold the Ruck up with….

That’s a wrap. We just spent the rest of the late afternoon relaxing and then went out to dinner later that night. Thanks for looking….
